I've been doing weddings for about 8 years now, and they are by far the most rewarding kind of photography I have ever done. I have always loved shooting weddings. It is a privilege to witness and record the excitement and energy of such a big day in the life of a couple-- a new family. Despite all the hype, this really is one of the most important and memorable days of your life, and you should have a record of it that you can enjoy for a lifetime of marriage. Beautiful wedding photography allows you to relive the excitement and joy of that day with friends and family for years to come.
My style is a mix of journalism and event-style photography. I try to capture creative shots and special moments between the bride and groom and among the wedding party, while also keeping an eye on the details of the day-- the anticipation of getting ready, ceremony and reception location shots, and your guests-- you'll want to remember who was there, even if you don't have time to talk to everyone.
The day will fly by, and great photographs are the perfect way to replay all those special moments and details. One of my favorite shots is of a bride and her father laughing together right before the doors to the church opened-- and the story behind the photo is that the bride's stomach had just growled quite audibly. She will always remember that moment, and loves having it captured in a photo.
I'm a native of Atlanta, but began shooting in North Carolina while in school at Davidson College. Besides shooting weddings in various Carolina cities, I loved being the photographer for Davidson's basketball team for a few years, chronicling the rise of the Wildcats and the now famous Stephen Curry. Nowadays my focus is on weddings and family portraits. Give me a call-- I'd love to be part of your special day!
